Gabriela’s volleyball career started back when she was 6 years old in Puerto Rico. Gabriela’s hard work and training helped her developed the right skills to become a setter. Throughout the years and the playing experience in 2010, was the first year that Gabriela’ team was given the opportunity to travel for the AAU’s which they obtained bronze in Open. In 2011 and 2012 were the last 2 seasons that the team played at the AAU’s obtaining another bronze medal and a runner-up. The volleyball experience and training that Gabriela received in Puerto Rico was a great start to her career but her mom wanted more for her future which is why Gabriela then moved to Orlando, FL in the fall of 2012. She started playing for Orlando Volleyball Academy (OVA) from the age of 13 until she was 15 years old. During her 13’s year she was awarded All-American at the AAU Championships.

After LSSC, she committed to Florida National University (FNU) where Gabriela played her last three seasons of college volleyball as a setter. In 2019, FNU was the USCAA champions, and Gabriela earned All-American honors. In 2021, FNU became part of the NAIA association, while also being part of the USCAA.
