Eric Gonzalez
Eric Joel Gonzalez born in Puerto Rico. He played professional volleyball there for 14
seasons, he developed as a setter.
As a coach, Eric join the Puerto Rico National Team Program in 2000. His first international
competition was as assistant coach with the Men’s Junior National Team in the 2002
NORCECA Championships in British Columbia, Canada.

2011 Girls Youth World Championship in Ankara, Turkey
In 2010 Eric was named head coach of the Puerto Rico Women’s Youth National Team. He
participated in the 2010 Women’s Youth NORCECA Championship, Guatemala; 2011
Pan-American Cup, Mexico and qualified the team to the 2011 Women’s Youth World
Championship. In 2011 he heads coach Puerto Rico team in the 2011 Women’s Youth
World Championship in Ankara, Turkey. He finished with the Puerto Rico National
Teams with the 2014 Men’s Junior NORCECA Championship.
Eric worked for different teams in the Puerto Rico Men’s and Women’s Volleyball
Professional Leagues: Divas Aguadilla (head coach), Gigantes Carolina (assistant coach),
Cariduros Fajardo (assistant coach), Orientales Humacao (assistant coach), Valencianas
Juncos (assistant coach).
Eric Joel Gonzalez is an FIVB (Federation Internationale de Volleyball) certified coach.
In 2006 he was certified as FIVB Volleyball Coach Level I and in 2011 he was certified as
FIVB Volleyball Coach Level II achieving the best score in the class.
