Crystal Ramsey

Crystal started playing volleyball at the age of 12 for Sunshine Central Volleyball in Orlando and played for Coach Sue Nadeau at Edgewater High School. She played for Orlando Volleyball Academy in its inaugural season under Coach Sindee Snow and Coach Yvonne Devlin and obtained a volleyball scholarship to Armstrong Atlantic State University where she studied Marketing and Business Administration.

 

Crystal has been coaching volleyball for twenty one years. She began her coaching career at the age of 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada as the Wahinies 16 Elite coach. She coached multiple summer volleyball camps for Valdosta State before moving to the Lakeland area. In the last 18 years in Polk County, Crystal has a 336-106 overall high school record. She spent 16 seasons at Lakeland High School and is currently the head coach at Bartow High School. She earned nine FACA Polk County Volleyball Coach of the Year honors in her respective classification and is a four time Ledger Polk County Volleyball Coach of the Year. Crystal has produced six players of the year and helped multiple female athletes obtain scholarships to college. In 2010, Crystal led Lakeland to the Final Four in the state in Class 7A.

 

Locally, she coached club volleyball for 17 seasons including owning and operating Lakeland Volleyball Academy (LVA) for eight years. She has coached at many collegiate summer camps and clinics including Florida Southern College and Southeastern  University. In 2020, she was honored with the Polk County All-Sports Charles Richardson Commissioner’s Award for Perseverance in Sports.  Crystal is very excited to be back coaching in her home town for two of her mentors, Sindee and Yvonne.
